About Grey Zone Studio
Most commercial spaces are caught between two unsatisfactory options: mass-produced decoration that lacks identity, or gallery art that wasn’t created with specific spatial integration in mind. Grey Zone Studio bridges this gap by creating site-specific artworks designed to function within real spaces.
The project was founded by Roman Rieth, a professional visual artist working across figurative painting, abstraction, and large-scale wall art. Every project — from a single canvas to a full mural installation — is conceived and executed by Roman directly.
Being a small, hands-on practice means that every client works directly with the artist, not with an account manager. It makes each artwork genuinely site-specific — developed in response to the actual space, its function, its atmosphere, and the identity of the business behind it.
Grey Zone Studio works with restaurants, cafés, offices, clinics, hotels, architects, and interior designers across Vienna and Austria. Projects range from original artworks and prints to full mural commissions and public space installations.
